Learning To Be Contentious

Some things We Wait For, Some Things We Must Contend For

David waited all those years before he was seated on the throne. He endured much struggle and patient endurance in the midst of Saul's merciless persecution, yet he waited on the Lord for the manifestation of God's promise to him.

And the woman with the issue of blood endured twelve years of suffering while seeking one useless cure after another. But then a moment came and when that moment came she decided it was going to be her moment. She was not going to let the moment, or Jesus, pass her by. She decided it was her turn and her time.

So she stepped through the crowd. And as the Kingdom of God allows for passionate people to take hold of its power, she took hold of Jesus' garment and she was healed.

Yes, it was her faith that healed her but it was also her discernment that it was time to get aggressive, time to contend. In like manner, are we discerning our situations accordingly?
