Jehoshaphat stood and said, “Hear me, O Judah and you inhabitants of Jerusalem: Believe in the Lord your God, and you shall be established; believe His prophets and you shall prosper. 2 Chronicles 20:20
It is a wise ear that discerns and gives heed to the words, counsel, wisdom, understanding, and insight of a true prophet. To understand that some things are spiritually discerned and not “caught” by the natural mind. This is why we are told to “lean not” on our own understanding, because there is a wisdom that comes from above and not from the heart or mind of man, and God will at times use His prophets to deliver the word of God, as well as the wisdom of God. A concrete example of this is the widow who obeyed the instructive word of Elisha, and her bin of flour and her jar of oil did not run dry all through the midst of a famine:
So she went away and did according to the word of Elijah; and she and he ate for many days.
1 Kings 17:15 (Other verse referred to: 1 Corinthians 2:14, Proverbs 3:5, James 3:17)
In addition, we are told in Joshua 1:8 – if we meditate on the word of God then our way will be prosperous and we will have success. It would only follow that if we also give heed to the word of God spoken through a prophet we will have the same measure of success. In either case, we must have “ears to ear” whether it’s the logos word, the rhema word, the proceeding word, or the word coming out of the mouth of a prophet. This is what will truly make our paths straight.
THREE FOUNDATIONAL PRINCIPLES, BASED ON THE WORD, MY PROPHETIC MINISTRY STANDS UPON
1.God has granted/bestowed to those in Christ every tool and every resource needed to live joyfully, victoriously, and triumphantly. Accordingly, we have everything we need to overcome and to enjoy the abundant life Jesus promised. “Victory in Jesus” includes our rights and responsibilities as Sons of God and the authority we have over every word, work, and whisper of the enemy (Luke 10:19 paraphrased). Key Scriptures:
Now thanks be to God who always leads us in triumph in Christ, and through us diffuses the fragrance of His knowledge in every place. 2 Corinthians 2:14
Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us. Romans 8:37
These things I have spoken to you that you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. John16:33 (also 2 Corinthians 4:9)
2. Nothing is too hard for the Lord. There is no person or situation beyond the reach of the power of God’s redeeming Hand. His arm is not shortened (Isaiah 59:1) that He cannot save, heal, and deliver. Relatedly, we can trust Him with every aspect of our lives, including our very lives. He is well able to show Himself strong on our behalf (2 Chronicles 16:9). He is our Protector and Defender. My Scriptures:
Is anything too hard for the Lord? Genesis 18:14
Behold, I am the LORD, the God of all flesh. Is there anything too hard for Me? Jeremiah 32:27
But the just shall live by his faith. Habakkuk 2:14
3. As a new covenant voice, my life must be an accurate expression of the heart and love of God that keeps and sustains all of us. When I speak the truth, I will speak the truth in love, for we were birthed from God’s love and it is His love that draws all men to Him. When people are unlovely, I will remember my own path to Him, and I will allow His love to be perfected in my heart and grant them the grace He granted me. I will be a vessel of and for God’s love.
Key Scriptures:
And we have known and believed the love God has for us. God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and God in him. 1 John 4:16
Behold what manner of love the father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God. 1 John 3:1
Yes, I have loved you with an everlasting love. Jeremiah 31:3
WHAT GOD HAS ORDAINED MY PROPHETIC MINISTRY TO ILLUMINATE ABOUT THE PROPHETIC
1.Our words have power and every word we speak (as believers and more so as prophets) carries either a positive or a negative weight and will have an effect accordingly because death and life are in the power of the tongue. The worlds were framed by the word of God (Hebrews 11:3) and because we are created in God’s image, our words have the same power, especially when it’s the word of God spoken through our mouths. Therefore, we must be mindful of the words we speak. We must take care to speak words of life and love and and health and strength, even when not specifically speaking a prophetic word. It comes to me even now – to whom much is given - the power of the tongue – much is required. On a related note, there is unlimited power in the Name of Jesus and this was the starting point in my journey of understanding the power of words. Key Scriptures:
My words are Spirit and My words are Life. John 6:33
For by your words you will be justified, and by your words you will be condemned. Matthew 12:37
Let no corrupts word proceed out of your mouth, but what is good for necessary edification, that it may impart grace to the hearers. Ephesians 4:29
Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips. Psalm 141:3
I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. My soul shall make its boast in the LORD: the humble shall hear of it and be glad. Psalm 34:1-2
2. The way we think and what we think matters because our thoughts have the power to direct the course of our lives. In order to have true success (Joshua 1:8) our thoughts must be aligned with the mind of Christ, and our thought process must align with Truth. Because the Sons of God are led and governed by the Spirit of God (Romans 8:14). Our thoughts, as directed by our mind, will, and emotions, must come into submission to the Spirit of Truth. It is a choice, and it is in our power to do so. Key Scriptures:
You will keep him in perfect peace, who mind is stayed (fixed) on You, because he trusts in You. Isaiah 26:3
Finally brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy – meditate (think) on these things. Philippians 4:8
This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall meditate in it day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written in it. For then you will make your way prosperous and you will have good success. Joshua 1:8
3. God is our Healer and it is His will for everyone to be healed and whole. And God has called us to administrate His healing; this is part of the Abundant Life Jesus came to give us (John 10:10) Because God’s will is for all men to be made whole. The fact that not everyone who is prayed for is healed does not negate the will of the Father; our experience does not dictate the the Father’s heart and will in these matters. Jesus Himself said, “I have come that they might have life, and that they may have it more abundantly” (John 10:10) and sickness and physical affliction are outside the realm of abundant life; they are not meant to be our portion.
Key Scriptures:
And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover. Mark 16:17-18
For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil
(all physical maladies) 1 John 3:8 (and as He is, so are we in this world, 1 John 4:17).
For I am the Lord who heals you. Exodus 15:26 (God’s revelation of Himself as Jehovah Rapha)
For I will restore health to you and heal you of your wounds. Jeremiah 30:17
He sent His word and healed them, and delivered them from their destruction. Psalm 100:20
Negative elements in the earth realm God has called me to deconstruct, utilizing my prophetic mantle:
1.He has called me to deconstruct sickness and disease; to be a vessel to bring forth healing
(2 Corinthians 12:9). This has been one of two consistent themes in the prophetic words spoken over my life, starting with Prophet Larry Randolph, when I didn’t even know what a prophetic word was, and as recent as a word given by Prophet Dion, with the specificity that I would have a certain grace to see cancers, lupus (and other diseases) healed and God has already granted me the grace for cysts, tumors, and blood diseases to be healed, as well as to see those in comas to be resurrected. Key Scriptures: (see also Mark 16:17-18 and John 10:8, listed above)
Behold, I give you authority to trample on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy (sickness and disease) and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Luke 10:19
But to you who fear My name the Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings; and you shall go out like stall-fed calves. You shall trample the wicked, for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet… Malachi 4:2-3
And grant to your servants that with all boldness they may speak Your word, by stretching out your hand to heal…Acts 4:29-30
Beloved, I pray that you may prosper and be in health, just as your soul prospers. 3 John 2
2. God has called me to deconstruct/dismantle the bitter root of unforgiveness (as He has granted me a special grace for forgiveness) for it poisons one’s spirit and causes sickness in the body. Key Scriptures:
And if you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven them; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained. John 20:23
For is you forgive men their trespasses, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. Matthew 6:14
Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases. Psalm 103:3
And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God is Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:32
(Character of the New Man) Therefore, as the elect of God, holy and beloved, put on tender mercies, kindness, humility, meekness, longsuffering; bearing with one another, if anyone has a complaint against another; even as Christ forgave you, so you must also do. Colossians 3:13
WHAT THE PROPHETIC ISN’T
The (Divine) prophetic deals in truth because its Source is Truth. The prophetic draws people to Jesus and brings all glory to God. It helps to establish and expand the Kingdom of God and the knowledge of His glory. The divine prophetic is not limited to giving prophetic words - this is the lowest level of the prophetic. The divine prophetic includes all of the ministry and works of a prophet – all of his/her supernatural communication and acts and influences, including the ability to shift atmospheres, whether in a room or a region. This also includes all of the disciplines and practices of revelatory ministry.
The work of the Divine prophetic is also to edify the church – to equip the saints for the work of the ministry, that the kingdom of God be established and expanded throughout the earth, city by city, region by region, etc. The divine prophetic also brings solutions, from heaven to earth, and the guidance of this prophetic helps individuals, families, businesses, and industries to flourish (2 Chronicles 20:20). Everyone needs the prophetic in their life – the wisdom and understanding, and the counsel and knowledge of the Lord – to make their paths straight and their way prosperous.
What the divine prophetic is not: treating God and His prophets like a “genie in the bottle.” For instance, “I need a word, I need a word” cry the people, and they overly rely on the prophet to hear from God rather than developing their relationship with God and developing their own spiritual understanding. All this, when Jesus said, “My sheep hear my voice.” And what this points to is the need for the prophets and the prophetically gifted to train people to tune in to hear God’s voice in the multitude of ways in which He speaks. Also, the divine prophetic is not when a charismatic person draws men and women to themselves and/or their own purposes rather than Christ Jesus; neither is the divine prophetic when one sees and seizes an opportunity to fleece the Church because of a gift they’ve been granted that enables them to do so. The divine prophetic operates from a place of love, obedience, and sacrifice, not merely a gifting that they have been graced with. The divine prophetic will always exhort, encourage and edify the church, as well as instruct, inspire, and motivate, and will always bring hope and inspire faith. It will also bring correction and conviction at times, but never condemnation. The divine prophetic will always aim to work in partnership with Apostles and Pastors, and the persons operating in the divine prophetic will know how and what and when to distribute from their mantle. Those of the divine prophetic will always seek to serve, rather than to be served, and they will call others up and raise others up….
